Bhopal: State CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan held a review meeting today to take stock of public health preparedness as well as response measures being taken in the context of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2. A list of restrictions that could be eased were put forth. Health Minister Dr Prabhuram Chaudary was also present at the meeting.
As per the revised guidelines, a night curfew from 11 am to 5 pm was still in place. Events like Weddings and Funerals were given fresh instructions according to which 250 guests could be invited for a wedding and only 50 could attend a funeral.
All types of fairs and mass gathering events were banned. Occupancy for political gatherings, cultural events and religious and social activities was capped at 250. In a closed hall, the occupancy limit was set at 50 per cent of the hall capacity. A mandate to produce vaccine certificates for individuals visiting theatres, swimming pools, stadiums, clubs and other social gathering sites was issued. Moreover, those not abiding by the norms were also warned of fine for not wearing masks.
