Bhopal: The Sub-divisional Magistrate of Berasia has served a notice to Nirmala Devi, the BJP member whose Gau Shala is under the scanner since 30th January.
SDM Aditya Jain, who is conducting the magisterial inquiry into the death of the cows has summoned Nirmala Devi with the necessary documents of Friday. On the same day, the statement of the Gau Shala owner will be recorded sources said.
Apart from these, the 10-acre land acquired by Nirmala Devi has also been sealed and will be put for inquiry. According to closed sources, this land is an illicit acquisition by the BJP member.
A video featuring nearly 100 carcasses of cows floated on social media on 30th January. A detailed investigation into the matter revealed the cows died due to a shortage of fodder. Shahrukh, the JCB driver who helped the lady clear the skeleton’s batch claimed that he had buried more than 850 carcasses so far.
Nirmala Devi has been running the Gau Shala under the BJP aids since 2001. According to an insider, she has been handed over Rs 35 lakh in the past five years for the well being of the Gau-Shala. Taking cognizance of the incident, Nirmala Devi has been booked under Section 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and Section 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code.
