Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh: The Bharat Jodo Yatra reached Ujjain on the eighth day of the yatra in Madhya Pradesh. Rahul Gandhi visited Baba Mahakal’s temple upon reaching Ujjain on Tuesday. He offered prayers at the Mahakal temple after stopping there for about 20 minutes.
Rahul worshiped Mahakal with the Panchopachar method. He wore a white dhoti and Rudraksh garland during the puja. After this, there will be a big meeting of them on Tuesday itself. Earlier Priyanka Gandhi was also going to attend this meeting, but then the program changed.
Rahul Gandhi started the journey at 6 am in Sanwer of Indore district. At the Ujjain border, the leaders of the district received the Yatra and the leaders of the Indore district bid farewell to Rahul. In view of the yatra, the traffic on the Indore-Ujjain road was closed in the morning. Rahul Gandhi was walking while meeting common people. They also greeted him by shaking hands.
Rahul Gandhi stopped for a tea break, and school children came there to meet him. Not only Rahul but all the leaders including Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh danced with the children who came in colorful clothes. Rahul took a lunch break at Ninaura village of Ujjain.
Rahul is also meeting local workers and people. A leader had also arranged for Ujjain’s band to welcome the yatra. Rahul met two college-going students and took a picture with them. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath’s son Nakul Nath also participated in the yatra on Tuesday. Digvijay Singh was not seen with Rahul.
So far, Bharat Jodo Yatra has covered six states and 35 districts. Other members including Rahul have traveled more than two thousand kilometers. In Madhya Pradesh, the yatra has gone to the Ujjain district after Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, and Indore districts. The Yatra will cover six districts in Madhya Pradesh and will cover a distance of 380 km.
