SHAHDOL: A 90-year senior citizen was allegedly raped by a motorcyclist who offered her help in the Shahdol district in MP a police officer said on Saturday.
As per preliminary reports, the woman had arrived from Jabalpur on Thursday night to visit her relatives in a village . “She stayed overnight at the railway station and an autorickshaw driver ferried her to the main road in Antra village on Friday morning, SP Kumar Pratik said. She then was asked to another transport to her relative’s place which was a few kilometers away from the main road.
The accused on the pretext of dropping her at the said location, offered her a lift and took a detour midway and raped her at an isolated place and dropped her on the main road, and fled.
The victim on reaching her relative’s place shared about the incident following which they approached the police. A case has been registered against the unidentified accused under IPC provisions for rape and other offenses.
The woman is hospitalized while a lookout notice has been issued for the absconding accused.
