Madhya Pradesh: As many as 12 passengers died and several others were injured after a Maharashtra Roadways bus nosedived into the Narmada river at Khalghat Sanjay Setu in Dhar district, MP on Monday morning. According to reports, the bus was carrying passengers from Indore to Pune. It fell after it skidded off the slippery road breaking the railing of the bridge.
Rescue teams rushed to the spot immediately on receiving the information. So far 15 have been rescued from the bus that seems to have toppled into the river.
Expressing grief over the incident CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a tweet said-“The district administration team is present at the accident site. The bus has been removed. I am in constant touch with Khargone, Dhar district administration. Instructions have been given to make arrangements for proper treatment of the injured.” Meanwhile. MP Home minister in a media interaction suspected steering or a brake failure that might have led to the mishap.
