The Delhi Police has freed two leaders of the Indian Youth Congress who were arrested over the protest on the AI Summit held at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital. After questioning, the two were released on Tilak Marg police station. Nevertheless, law enforcement has arrested one more demonstrator; they are making raids to find other participants in the protest.
The car of the leader of the Indian Youth Congress Krishna Hari became the place where t-shirts and posters utilized during the protest were found, according to the officials. The police claimed the materials were associated with the shirtless demonstration held at the summit venue. The law enforcers have insisted that investigation is ongoing to help capture more of the players who are said to have left the ground.
In the meantime, the Patiala House Court denied bail to four of the four arrested Youth Congress workers – Krishna Hari, Kundan Yadav, Ajay Kumar and Narasimha Yadav and sentenced them to five days of police detention. Delhi Police had in demand custodial interrogation on the basis that there was a need to trace individuals other accused persons and probe against the allegations that anti-national slogans were raised in the presence of international delegates and dignitaries.
The defence attorney argued that the accused were exercising their right to protest which is democratic and the demonstrations were peaceful. They contended that there has not been any violence evidence, and pointed out that the accused are well-educated office holders of a political party.
This protest happened in the AI Impact India Summit, where the members of the Youth Congress stripped off their shirts with slogans reading Compromised PM, terming it as a symbol of protest against the Prime Minister.
