New Delhi: Sexually assaulted and paraded, the misery of 20-year-old Indian woman who was chided in the National Capital today. A video featuring a woman being paraded, pushed, and slapped around was shared on social media by Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chief Swati Maliwal on Thursday morning. It was seen that the lady in the video a rape victim was assaulted by a group of women.

Reportedly, the Vivek Vihar area of the national capital witnessed a heinous crime while the nation celebrated Republic Day. A 20-year-old married woman was gang gaped and left to bleed. A day later this video surfaced the social media sparking outrage amongst the crowd.

Preliminary investigations report that the victim, married and mother of a child was pestered by youth from her neighbourhood, who committed suicide in November. The family of the youth claim he ended up his life for the lady. Speaking on the incident, Delhi Police said, “An unfortunate incident of sexual assault on a woman due to personal enmity happened in Shahdara District today. Police have nabbed four accused and the probe is on. All possible help and counselling is being provided to the victim.” It is speculated that the assault today morning was held in terms of personal enmity.

Pertaining to the shreds of evidence, four accused have been arrested. An FIR under sections of kidnapping, physical assault, and sexual assault has been registered, said DCP (Shahdara) R Sathiyasundaram.

The incident was reported by the victim’s husband. Currently, the lady is being counselled and receiving medical aid.
