A special discussion on Operation Sindoor continues in the Lok Sabha today. While addressing the House, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “We gave a free hand to the forces”. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has initiated 16-hour long special discussion on the Operation Sindoor in the Rajya Sabha.
Slamming the central government, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge said in Rajya Sabha, ‘We condemn Pakistan here, but your friends attend their banquets and hug them. You yourself make mistakes and then point fingers at us. The Prime Minister cancelled his program 3 days before the Pahalgam attack – did the government know in advance.’ Kharge further said, ‘Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha himself has publicly said that ‘there was a security lapse in Pahalgam and he takes full responsibility for it.’ But the real accountability is not of the Lieutenant Governor, but of the Home Minister. How long will this government run on the legacy of Congress? We divided Pakistan into two parts. If you all dig the mountain, you will only find a rat.’
Mallikarjun Kharge said that PM Modi had cancelled his visit to Jammu and Kashmir three days before the attack. He asked whether the government was aware that he had cancelled his visit. Kharge said that he had also sought a written answer to this. He said that this government is steeped in arrogance. It does not respond to our statements. He said that one day people will come who will break your arrogance.
What PM Modi Said On Operation Sindoor
PM Modi confirmed that no world leader forced India to stop the operation, rather Pakistan Army begged for a ceasefire. “When Pakistan decided to stand with the terrorists, Indian forces launched an action that Pak would remember for years. On May 9, our missiles were launched, forcing Pakistan on its knees,” said PM Modi.
“On May 9, JD Vance tried to speak to me. I couldn’t take his calls because I was busy in a meeting. Then, I called him back and he told me that Pakistan was going to launch a big attack on India. I told him that if Pakistan intends to do this, it will backfire. If they attack, we will launch a bigger attack. I said their ‘goli’ will be retaliated with our ‘gola’,” said PM Modi.
