New Delhi: Centre on Tuesday announced to impose curfew over the weekends citing the striking surge in the city. Work from home for govt officials was another measure taken by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia while attending the virtual DDMA meeting. However, he added that all public transport will operate at full capacity.

Earlier today, CM Kejriwal resulted positive to coronavirus shortly after his visit to the poll-bound states. As the city was already under yellow alert, a night curfew is in place since December 29th. Cinemas, gyms and other retail stores have been ordered to follow the odd-even equation to operate.

The restrictions come after the national capital recorded a surge in positivity rate above five per cent straight for two days. The city has been placed under red alert under the colour-coded Graded Response Action Plan. Officials determine Delhi to record a striking rise of 25,000 infections per day by mid-January with a simultaneous rise in hospitalizations.
