Weather Updates: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for parts of Gujarat and Goa. The warning has been issued a day after parts of Maharashtra were declared in orange alert from July 13 to July 15. In anticipation for heavy rainfall, parts of the northeast region (especially Meghalaya) has been proclaimed in red alert on Friday.
In Maharashtra, very rainfall with orange alert in Riagad, Pune, Thane, Ratnagiri, and Satara has been forecasted. The intense downpour has disrupted normal life with authorities being forced to close schools and colleges. The record-breaking rainfall caused widespread waterlogging, making it difficult for people to navigate flooded roads and for authorities to locate railway tracks.
Weather updates for Gujarat- Predicting heavy rainfall, an orange alert was issued for Gujarat. The state shall also experience thunderstorms and lighting as per the regional meteorological center.
Weather updates in Konkan and Goa region predicts heavy rainfall ranging from 115.6 to 204.4 mm on Friday. According to the IMD forecast, this heavy rainfall is expected to continue untile July 15.
