At a press conference today in Nabanna, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee addressed the media and spoke about the ongoing Afghan turmoil. She said, “More than 200 people from Darjeeling, Terai, and Kalimpong are stranded in Afghanistan. Our Chief Secretary has written to the External Affairs Ministry in this regard. The government must immediately make arrangements for their safe return to the country”. Didi said she is worried about their safety in the recently Taliban-occupied Afghanistan.

On asking about her take on the matter, she refrained from commenting too much. “It is a sensitive matter. It is the domain of the External Affairs Ministry. There are several aspects in the matter like the Taliban, America, China, and Russia. Let the Government of India react”, Didi said to the media houses. Moving aside from the afghan issue, didi started targeting the opponent in her next address. From mentioning hooliganism and inappropriate law and order in Tripura to commenting on the merging of nationalized banks she spoke about it all.

The Bengal CM also provided information on her approach to the Govt for the NITI Aayog master plan for Digha, Ghatal, and Sundarban areas of Bengal. She said, “We are sending four ministers to Delhi next week to meet the Irrigation Minister and NITI Aayog. There have been long-standing demands for master plans for Ghatal, Digha, and Sundarban. We also demand the reform of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). It is due to DVC that a flood situation arises”. The reply of the centre is still awaited.
