Nuh: After the clashes in Haryana’s Nuh and Gurugram districts, which sadly resulted in the loss of six lives, there was a gathering called ‘Mahapanchayat’ in Pondri village of Haryana’s Palwal district. This meeting took place on Sunday. Members had discussions about the ‘Brij Mandal Yatra’ organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), which some people believe triggered the disturbances in Nuh. It was announced that this yatra will resume on August 28.
During this gathering, certain leaders representing Hindu groups expressed their concerns for the safety of the community. Stressed the need to ease restrictions on obtaining licenses for self-defense weapons. Acharya Azad Shastri from Haryana Gau Rakshak Dal encouraged attendees not to be afraid of filing FIRs (First Information Reports) and highlighted the importance of obtaining firearm licenses suggesting a target of 100 licenses for the Mewat region.
The ‘Mahapanchayat’ saw participation from figures, including Arun Jaildar, who is a respected Khap leader. Representatives from parties like Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), and Bajrang Dal also attended.
One major concern raised during the event was the demand for a presence of Rapid Action Force in the region.
Leaders also emphasized the need to create four central force battalions in Nuh with the aim of preserving peace. Additionally, there was an agreement on the importance of holding those involved in the violent incidents through legal actions conducted outside of the Nuh district. Suggestions were made to consider trial and detention venues such as Gurugram ensuring that local influences do not interfere with the proceedings.
