Mumbai: Bollywood star Varun Dhawan and his wife, Natasha Dalal contributed Rs 1 lakh to the victims affected by the fire that broke out at Tirap district in AP. Varun was shooting for his upcoming film ‘Bhediya’ in Arunachal Pradesh.
On March 18, a fire broke out in the village and two persons including a five-year-old girl were burnt to death. The fire reduced 143 thatched houses to ashes.
The news of donating Rs 1 lakh was shared in a Twitter account named Dipro Ziro. The tweet read, “#VarunDhawan and #NatashaDalal donated Rs 1 lakh as relief assistance to the fire victims of #Longliang at Lazu Circle at Tirap District, Arunachal Pradesh. Varun has been camping in #Ziro since Feb, shooting for his upcoming movie #Bhediya”.
The film ‘Bhediya’ is directed by Amar Kaushik. The film reunites Varun with his Dilwale co-star Kriti Sanon. In the film, Abhishek Banerjee and Deepak Dobriyal are featured in pivotal roles. Several videos of Varun have been shared online in which he is seen being mobbed by fans in Arunachal Pradesh. In one such clip, he could be seen climbing atop of a car.
He said, “Thode time ke liye humlog hai idhar. Bohot time ke liye hai. Toh hopefully, shooting jab khatam hota hai toh main aap sab se mil paunga (We will be here for quite some time. Hopefully, once the shooting ends, I will be able to meet you all)”.
