Varanasi: Hearing the Masjid committees petition, the Varanasi court today adjourned the case, scheduling it for 4th July.
The court was to decide whether the plaintiff (Hindu worshipper) should be allowed to worship deities reportedly found inside the Gyanvapi mosque. However, no orders were passed on the ad-interim prayer made to worship inside the mosque.
The Muslim side persistently presented their argument and registered their point-to-point objections to the Hindu side’s plea in court today. Around 47 lawyers were permitted to witness the hearing today.
Meanwhile, an impleadment plea has been filed before the fast track court by Kendriya Brahman Mahasabha seeking rights to offer prayers and worship the alleged Shivling discovered inside Gyanvapi mosque.
The Varanasi court on May 26, had started hearing the case on the issue of its maintainability in compliance with the order of the apex court.
