The summer temperatures are shooting up every day, posing a big threat to those who work outside, like traffic police officials. The Vadodara Traffic Police has introduced an innovative solution to combat sizzling heat. This action was initiated after various incidents of traffic police facing health issues such as fainting due to the extreme heat while on duty. These AC helmets are introduced for the safety and comfort of traffic police officers in the summer.

These helmets feature a face mask to protect the eyes from harsh sunlight. There is a charging point to power it and to provide cooling for up to eight hours if fully charged. The traffic police department has received positive responses from the officers, who have reported improved comfort and efficiency while reporting on their duties. These helmets are provided to police officers on a trial basis.

These AC helmets were developed by IIM students in Vadodara, Gujarat. These battery-operated air-conditioned helmets aim to promote safety gear, relieve heat-related illnesses, and ensure compliance with helmet laws. Strangely, the weight of these helmets is 500 grams more than that of standard riding helmets. These specialty helmets typically cost between Rs.12,000 and Rs.16,000.

This strategy of the Traffic Police Department is being praised by the public, with many praising it as a favourable step forward in ensuring the well-being and productivity of traffic police officers, particularly during the harsh summer months. A viral video of some traffic police officers wearing AC helmets can be seen on various social media platforms.
