Ghaziabad: Uttar Pradesh state government has warned citizens against luxating COVID norms. In view of the second wave of coronavirus in Ghaziabad adjoining the capital city of Delhi, the district administration has implemented section 144 as a precautionary measure in view of coming festivals including Holi. 

The state will be under Section 144 until 25th May. State Authorities have mandated masks in all public places and social sectors. Additionally, entry to shopping malls, schools and other public places will be denied to those who are not wearing masks.

Railway’s authorities have imposed strict travel regulations. Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey has issued an order stating that only fifty percent attendees will be allowed at educational institutions, cinema halls, shopping malls, restaurants and other workplaces.

Wedding ceremonies and other social events will have to seek permission form the district magistrate.

The daily tally has been rising in Ghaziabad and elsewhere in Uttar Pradesh. The state’s cumulative case tally is currently 6,05,655 and the number of active cases is 1,912.
