NEW DELHI: Two grade 10th students committed suicide following the announcement of CBSE results said the police on Saturday. As per reports the students were upset with the results and allegedly hanged themselves at their homes in separate incidents of suicide in Delhi.
A 16-year-old allegedly hanged herself in Delhi Hari Nagar after scoring low marks in the exam on Friday late evening. The doctors declared her dead on arrival after her father rushed her to DDU hospital. Deputy Commissioner of Police West Delhi Ghanshyam Bansal said the girl scored 75 percent and was upset with her scores. The girl is said to belong to the science stream.
Another incident took place in Northwest Delhi’s Sultanpuri, where a 19-year-old allegedly committed suicide as she failed the exam. The victim succumbed to her attempts while she was undergoing treatment at SGM Hospital added Mr. Bansal.
No suicide note has been found in both cases and no foul play is suspected said a senior police official.
The bodies of both girls were handed over to the families following an autopsy. The post-mortem reports cite asphyxiation occured due to hanging as the cause of death.
