A woman who happens to be a native of Uttar Pradesh has come forth and made a shocking revelation of the fact that she has traveled in the same bus with Sonam Raghuvanshi, the lady said to have stabbed her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, to death during the honeymoon in Meghalaya. The female who claimed to be a student named Ujala Yadav a villager of the Holipur (Inamipur) village in the Saidpur region of Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh told that the rape had taken place on the night of June 8, on a trip made on the route between Varanasi and Ghazipur.
As Ujala describes, the first time she met Sonam, she noticed her outside the rail station in Varanasi, and Sonam seemed to be in the company of two youths. In subsequent sightings, she would see her in a bus station where they ended up taking the same bus together. Ujala said that the name of Sonam was covered by a scarf with a T-shirt that was struggling to mask who she was.
In the process, Ujala told police that Sonam was sitting adjacent to her as Sonam had asked another male passenger to lend him his phone, but he refused and swapped seats with another passenger. Sonam then requested Ujala to give her the phone. Ujala recollected that she typed a number and then deleted it afterward, giving the phone to her again.
This interaction did not stop. Sonam spotted Ujala reading news stories on the internet related to the honeymoon murder case and warned her against reading such information. When Ujala asked her, she answered, Do not watch useless things, and do not go on social media.
In case of the claim being substantiated, it would prove to be a breakthrough in the case of Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder as it indicates that Sonam had been trying to remain incognito whilst monitoring media reportage in regard to the investigation. The government is now supposed to check the story of Ujala and check who the people are who might have assisted Sonam in escaping prosecution after the supposed crime.
