Lucknow: After several detentions and denials, the UP govt has announced to investigate the matter. UP ADG ( Law and Order) Prashant Kumar informed the appointment of a Retired HC judge to probe the Sunday incident where no guilty shall be spared.
Giving insights into the orders issued by the state govt, ADG said, “It has already been made clear that no guilty will be spared. Arrests will also be made very soon. Post-mortem of bodies will be conducted as per law & last rites will be conducted as per their religious beliefs”. Additionally, the Yogi govt has also announced a compensation of Rs 45 lakh and a govt job to the families of the 4 farmers who died in the violence at Lakhimpur Puri yesterday. The injured have been promised to be given Rs 10 lakhs.
Bhartiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait also reached the violence-hit district on Monday. Additionally, the SKM had called for protests at the District Collectors and District Magistrate’s offices across the country today between 10 am-1 pm.
Uttar Pradesh CM expressed grief over the incident and described it as ‘unfortunate’. He asserted that action would be taken against whosoever is responsible.
