Moradabad: An FIR has been filed by a 28-year old woman from Moradabad alleging a 31-year old police constable raped her multiple times for the past two years. She further mentioned in her statement that the constable threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anyone else.
“We have received a written complaint from a woman, who is a rape survivor”, said the circle officer of the region. He further added that she was raped by a police constable and an FIR has been filed under IPC sections 376 (rape), 504 (intentional insult), and 506 (criminal intimidation). The officer confirmed that a departmental inquiry shall also be conducted against the accused.
“The constable first raped me at gunpoint when he visited home two years ago. He visited home two years ago in guise of questioning in connection with a complaint filed by the women against a local youth”, said the woman in her statement. Allegedly, the constable raped the woman, who is a paramedic several times in these two years and had promised to marry her.
Earlier in 2019, the survivor has fallen for a man who introduced himself under a pseudonym and raped her on the pretext of marriage. When the woman came to know about his real identity, she lodged an FIR stating that he was forcing her to convert. It was during these investigations, the accused constable approached the survivor offering help.
