Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has issued the guidelines for the upcoming festival season. As part of these guidelines, the sale of meat will be prohibited along the routes designated for the Kanwar Yatra, which is scheduled to begin on July 4. Chief Minister Adityanath emphasized the significance of this year’s extended month of Shravan, during which festivals like Shravani Shivratri, Nagpanchami, and Rakshabandhan will be celebrated.
The government’s decision aims to ensure a peaceful and harmonious observance of religious events, promoting communal harmony and upholding the sanctity of the festivals. Authorities will work together to enforce the ban and ensure compliance with the guidelines, fostering an environment conducive to religious rituals during the festival season in Uttar Pradesh.
He called for discussions with religious leaders and academics to implement road-safety measures during Bakrid and Muharram. The Chief Minister prohibited offering sacrifices at disputed locations during Bakrid and emphasized designated places for sacrifices. He also stressed proper waste disposal and instructed the deployment of divers and CCTV cameras for the Kanwar Yatra.
CM Adityanath emphasized no display of weapons during religious processions and urged vigilance against provocation of inter-community tensions. He instructed the removal of illegal vehicle stands and the establishment of traffic action plans in all cities. These measures aim to ensure peaceful and harmonious celebrations while maintaining law and order in Uttar Pradesh.
