Udaipur: Huge protests take place in Udaipur amidst outrage over tailor Kanhaiya Lal’s murder. Protestors held saffron flags as the procession marched through Udaipur under heavy security.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will meet with the family of Kanhaiya Lal, 48, murdered on Tuesday by two men who filmed the killing and boasted about it, also threatening Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As per the post mortem conducted on Wednesday, 26 injury marks were found on the body of Kanhaiya Lal. However, it is not clear whether all the injuries were caused by the cleaver, police sources told the press.
“Multiple injuries were there on the body. They were on the neck, head, hand, back and chest,” the sources said.
According to the NIA officials, both arrested accused will be brought to Delhi for interrogation and their mobile and electronic devices will be sent for forensic examination. Investigating agencies suspect that the accused had taken inspiration from the videos of ISIS to carry out the murder. Help is being sought from cyber and forensic teams to get the details related to social media, including posts and chats, of both the accused. Their links with Dawat-e-Islam are also being probed, officials added.
