The Trinamool Congress (TMC) that rules West Bengal was on a fierce attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday, after the car blast near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday. The party insisted Seih Shah step down claiming that the current government has brought about total failure in the national security.

In another scathing message on X, the TMC reminded of past terrorism attacks in the country, such as the Pulwama and Pahalgam attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, and the recent one that took place in the middle of the national capital. The party charged Amit Shah with evading responsibility on numerous occasions, saying that whenever the nation bleeds, the Home Minister gets away guiltlessly without an ounce of responsibility. The post also contained the following, no home minister with the smallest bit of conscience would have not taken office by now. But regrets and conscience are alien to this government.

The TMC attacked Prime Minister Modi in this case, claiming that as the country is grieving and grappling with internal security issues, this man is busy flaunting before the cameras in a foreign land, having visited Bhutan. The party claimed that all terror attacks and security failure during the BJP rule reflects the complete failure of the internal security system of India.

The national general secretary of TMC, Abhishek Banerjee also raised the question of the responsibility of the Delhi Police, saying that the agency is directly accountable to the Union Home Ministry. It is very unpleasant to see that such a happening has taken place in the very center of our capital. How are these such serious security lapses tolerated, he said? Banerjee also pointed to the recent discovery of explosives in Faridabad, Haryana, demanding an investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by a court, so as to create transparency and justice.

TMC MP Mahua Moitra also shared the same sentiments by telling India that they require a competent home minister rather than a full-time hate campaign minister.
