The continuous decline in covid positive cases for the past two months made the countrymen feel safer. But could a sudden spike in the number of cases in the last 24 hours be a third wave hint? Well, if it is so, we are definitely not prepared for another wave yet as the recuperation from the jolt of the second wave is still in process. India recorded a total of 46,164 new covid positive cases in the last 24 hours which is the highest recorded positive cases in 2 months.

In addition to the new positive cases, the recovering patient count has also increased, which is a good sign in contrast to the rising positive cases. The total number of recoveries is recorded to be 34,159 and the total deaths caused due to the virus is 607 as per reports. With this, the active caseload of the country stands at 3,33,725 with 4,36,365 total deaths caused by the virus so far.

As the reports of rising cases come in, one Indian state that is facing an active rise in positive cases is Kerala. The daily covid positive case count in the state crosses around the 30,000 mark which is a worrying figure. Though India has vaccinated almost 60 crores of its population, the wary signs of increasing covid numbers make us worried about the possibility of a third wave hint coming true soon! Stay alert people!
