Patna: Nitish Kumar is set to make history once again in Bihar today. He will be sworn in as Chief Minister for the 10th time. The ceremony will be held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with more than 150 guests, have been invited.

The NDA contested the Bihar Assembly elections under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. Before the elections, there was considerable speculation about the Chief Minister’s age and health. Both within the Grand Alliance and within the NDA appeared to be abandoning Nitish Kumar over this issue. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was among those leaders who were reluctant to clarify Nitish Kumar’s name as the NDA’s CM face. Amit Shah’s vague answers created confusion. When the issue escalated, Prime Minister Modi had to intervene, and Nitish Kumar’s name was approved.

Ultimately, all NDA constituent parties contested the elections under Nitish Kumar’s leadership and returned to power with a resounding majority. In this election, the NDA won 202 of Bihar’s 243 seats, while the Grand Alliance was reduced to just 35. Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM won five seats, while Mayawati’s BSP won one.

Meanwhile, discussions are on for MLAs who will be appointed ministers alongside Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Among them, calls went to Raju Tiwari from the LJPR and Snehlata Kushwaha from the RLM. Calls also went to Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Shravan Kumar, Ashok Chaudhary, Lesy Singh, and Jama Khan from the JDU. Calls also went to Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha from the BJP, along with Mangal Pandey, Nitin Naveen, Sanjay Sarawagi, and Rama Nishad.
