New Delhi: The Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu reemphasized on Wednesday that his party will continue to support the BJP-led NDA. The sentiment was given in the backdrop of the TDP and its allies’ overwhelming performance in the recently held Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, where the alliance bagged 164 of the 175 seats.
Print media is also banned in the village, and Naidu was prevented from addressing the media through his party, a state partner in the Modi-led government. Speaking to reporters at his residence in Undavalli, Amaravati, Naidu addressed the media regarding his party’s position. He also refuted the rumorous of receiving an invitation for the TDP as a member of the INDIA bloc alliance and stressed his stand on the TDP for the NDA. “The NDA is our political alliance; I am planning to visit New Delhi this afternoon for the meeting of NDA allies. I will brief it out afterward when I am back from New Delhi,” Naidu said.
Naidu claimed the successful outcome in assembly polls was due to the giant cooperation of alliance partners like BJP and Janasena Party (JSP). He thanked JsP; President Pawan Kalyan for his visionary leadership that anchored the alliance, which protected the anti-establishment votes from being split. Addressing a public meeting after the agreement was signed, former BJP leader and JDU National President, Mr. Arun Jaitley, thanked Lal Krishna Advani for his foresight in endorsing the alliance with Ram Vilas Paswan and son, MP Chiranjeevi, declaring Pawan Kalyan as an inspiration for initiating the alliance and the BJP for extending its support to the mission of reforming democracy.
In the course of recalling the historic election, Naidu observed that the victory that he had witnessed was the largest in the 45 years of his political career, as had been witnessed only in 1994 when the TDP defeated the congress by a two-thirds majority for the second consecutive term.
