Another Taliban official is going to come to India, happening not so long after an another top-level visit before, showing that diplomatic relations and more trade connections between New Delhi and Kabul are getting stronger lately. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, who is the Afghanistan Minister in charge of Industry and Commerce, will be meeting Indian authorities and is also supposed to attend the India International Trade Fair (IITF). This event is happening at Pragati Maidan, a famous venue located in the New Delhi. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) already gave a warm greeting and said the coming trip’s main aim is to build up business deals and investments for both sides.

According to their message the MEA said, “A warm welcome to Afghan Industry and Commerce Minister, Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, on his official visit to India.Advancing bilateral trade and investment ties is the key focus of the visit.” This visit is now second instance of important meetings coming from Taliban-controlled Afghan government after they got control in August 2021.

During the October, Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi was visiting India for about an six days, which made it most senior meeting after the Taliban took charge. India then improved its Technical Mission located in Kabul to a full Embassy, pointing to stronger effort for collaboration and engagement where interests are shared.

Minister Azizi plans to focus on trade and investments and also industry partnerships. The trip can create more chances for infrastructure projects, businesses working together and plans that could improve economies and help keep the region more peaceful.
