New Delhi: BJPs Tajinder Bagga, who was arrested by Punjab police on Friday afternoon was produced before the Magistrate Swayam Siddha Tripathi, who has now directed the SHO Janakpuri to provide security to the BJP leader and his family. Bagga was released after 20 hours of arrest from his home in the national capital. On Monday, the Magistrate concerned will record his statement sources said.

“SHO is directed to make necessary arrangements for the safety and security of the complainant (Bagga), he is a major and requesting that he should be allowed to go home, since he is major there is no requirement of any further order with respect to his stay,” the court noted in its order.

Advocates YP Singh and Sanket Gupta presenting Bagga submitted a report that claimed the BJP member sustained injuries on his back and shoulder.

After the Punjab Police team took Mr Bagga away in the morning, his father filed a complaint at the Janakpuri police station in West Delhi alleging he has been abducted. Delhi Police has lodged an FIR in this regard. Bagga was accused by the Punjab police of ‘kidnapping’ based on a complaint lodged by AAP leader Sunny Singh who alleged the BJP leader had made provocative statements,spread rumours and tried to create communal unrest.
