A major accident occurred during the Surajkund Fair held in Faridabad, Haryana. A swing suddenly broke, causing panic among the crowd. A large number of people were present near the swing at the time of the accident, resulting in serious injuries. Police Inspector Jagdish Prasad died during the rescue operation. Deputy Commissioner of Police Ayush Singh stated that a total of 13 people were injured in the accident, one of whom died.
Eyewitnesses said that as soon as the swing broke, there was screaming and chaos. People started running in panic. Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene and immediately began rescue operations. A police inspector was seriously injured. Six other people were also injured, some of whom are said to be in critical condition.
Upon receiving information about the accident, the District Deputy Commissioner, the Managing Director of the Tourism Department, and senior police officers immediately arrived at the scene. The administration barricaded the entire area to prevent further accidents and prevent any hindrances to rescue operations. The injured were admitted to nearby hospitals for first aid.
