New Delhi: India recorded 16,167 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.50 per cent accounted for 15,549 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,34,99,659.
The daily positivity rate stood at 6.14 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 1,35,510 accounting for 0.31 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 6,792 in the last 24 hours.
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 41 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,26,730. The new fatalities include 15 deaths reconciled by Kerala. The 26 remaining fatalities include four from Karnataka, three from Gujarat, two each from Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Odisha, Punjab and West Bengal and one each from Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
With the administration of 34,75,330 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 206.56 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
