Madhya Pradesh: The Madhya Pradesh Govt on Monday announced to launch anti-dengue campaign on September 15. This campaign by the govt comes after 150 cases of Dengue were reported from the Jabalpur district on Sunday, which took the overall tally of the infected patients to 2,570 since January 1 this year. Moreover, Indore on Sunday reported 17 new cases of the vector borne diseases that took to the tally of the district to 139 informed B. S Sethia, Chief Medical Health Officer Indore.
A press release by the govt on Monday informed that CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has urged maximum cooperation from the residents of the state under the ‘Dengue se Jung Janta ke Sang’ Campaign to break the chain and curb the spread. He also instructed all housing facility owners to get rid of stagnant waters in their premises within seven days to ensure the larvae don’t thrive in the vicinity.
It is reported that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asserted ‘Precaution is better than cure’. Citing CM’s statement, authorities have advised individuals to restrain from the use of air coolers, tanks, pots, vases, old tyres and has instructed them to discard useless containers. It has recommended residents to use tempos 50% solution, BTI Powder and BTI liquid as disinfectants to mitigate the spread.
As per the release, a 30 minute slot from 10-10:30 am would be scheduled on September 15 that would be dedicated to anti-dengue campaign, where CM Chouhan would discuss about dengue and strategies to fight it.
