New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on the third day of questioning at the ED office left after three hours without another notice to appear further, officials said.

The session today began at 11: 15 am by a team of investigators that comprises of a the main probe officer and a person to register the statements on the computer. Priyanka Gandhi who has been accompanying her mother since she began appearing for the questioning was stationed at the Pravatan Bhavan ‘ED HQ’ in order to provide assistance or medical care for her mother who recently recovered from COVID-19. The probe agency has said that it would cross-check facts between the statements issued by the interim chief and the former president of the party as both are majority stakeholders in Young Indian Pvt Ltd, even as the ED questioned Rahul Gandhi for five days in the National Herald case, just last month.

Sonia Gandhi’s ED questioning was rescheduled after the former she had resulted positive to COVID-19. She was then called for on Thursday when she was questioned for 6 hours. Later another round of questioning was scheduled for Tuesday.

The case pertains to investigating the alleged financial irregularities under congress-promoted Young Indian Private Limited, which owns the National Herald newspaper.
