New Delhi: India recorded 1,086 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.76 per cent accounted for 1,198 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,97,567. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.23 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 11,871 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 183 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.21 per cent reported 71 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 5,21,487.
The financial capital of the country on Tuesday reported having successfully immunized all eligible beneficiaries above the age of 18 years. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said it has administered 92,42,888 second doses as of Tuesday against the original target of 92,36,500.
As per the statistics reported to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, over 185.04 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country including 15.49 lakh doses given in the last 24 hours. A total of 99,04,28,218 doses of first dose and 83,60,22,063 second doses have been administered so far. In the age group of 12-14 years, 1,97,65,419 first doses of the vaccine have been administered to adolescents. Under the 15+ vaccination program, 5,74,35,679 first doses while 3,88,57,154 second doses of the vaccine have been administered so far. For individuals between 18-44 years, the ministry has documented 55,48,50,994 administrations of the first dose and 46,80,79,123 of the second dose.
