New Delhi: Security has been beefed up at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar after farmers and Samyukta Kissan Morcha planned a nationwide protests in support of the protesting grapplers. Several leaders of the SKM hailing from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are expected to visit the protest site at Jantar Mantar.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has increased the security arrangements at Jantar Mantar where wrestlers are staging a sit-in, and in border areas as hundreds of farmers are expected to visit the protest site today.

Former BCCI chief Saurav Ganguly said that wrestlers have brought a lot of accolades to the nation and hoped that the matter between the protesting grapplers and WFI gets resolved. Welcoming Ganguly to Jantar Mantar, Vinesh Phogat said that he should come to the protest site and witness their protest first hand.

India’s top wrestlers are fighting against the Wrestling Federation of India’s President and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh demanding his arrest over charges of sexual harassment. Olympic medalist Bajrang Punia has appealed all Indian nationals to observe candlelight march today to show their solidarity with protesting wrestlers.
