Sita Dahal, the esteemed spouse of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda,” sadly departed from this world on Wednesday at the age of 69. She bravely fought an uncommon neurological ailment for a significant duration. Sita had been undergoing treatment for her illness at Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu, where she ultimately succumbed to her condition at 8:33 am, as confirmed by her press coordinator, Surya Kiran Sharma.

Sita had been suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, and hypertension, according to a bulletin issued by the hospital. Progressive supranuclear palsy is a rare neurological disorder that can result in difficulties with balance, movement, vision, speech, and swallowing.

Her health deteriorated on Wednesday, prompting her immediate admission to the hospital. Sita and Prime Minister Prachanda shared three daughters and one son, but sadly, their eldest daughter Gyanu Dahal and their son Prakash Dahal had previously passed away.

Sita is survived by Prime Minister Prachanda and their two daughters, Renu and Ganga. Renu Dahal currently holds the position of Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City. The final rites for Sita will take place in the afternoon at the Pashupatinath Temple’s Aryaghat in Kathmandu. The nation mourns the loss of Sita Dahal, offering condolences and support to the grieving family during this difficult time.
