Prayagraj: A CJM court in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj today remanded gangster Atiq Ahmed’s killers to four-day police custody. This comes after Special Investigation Team filed an application in court seeking remand for questioning of the three accused.

The senior member of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force will ask some questions to the shooters of the Atiq Ahmed Murder case. It has been reported that the questioning will begin on Wednesday, i.e., 20 April. The officer added that the questions regarding the murder of Atiq and Ashraf would be answered in custody.

The DIG of the Special Task Force, Anand Tiwari, discussed it in an interview on Tuesday. He said, “The murder of Atiq-Ashraf was committed in front of the media. The three shooters are under arrest. We will take them in police remand, and all the questions regarding the killing will be answered“.

Atiq and Ashraf were shot dead on Saturday night by three men who were acting as journalists. All three shooters, Mohit (23), Lalvesh (22), and Arun Maurya (18), have been arrested and put down in Prayagraj Jail. When Anand Tiwari was asked about the Umesh Pal murder case, he said, “We have limitations, but they have a number of means to evade arrest. As far as Guddu Muslim is concerned he is known as Guddu ‘bombaaz’ and is expert in evading arrest while Praveen remains as ‘pardanashin’ (in veil). But we will be arresting them soon,”

Four other people associated with the Umesh Pal murder case were also killed. Umesh’s wife, Jaya, lodged an FIR under sections 302 and 307 of the IPC.
