Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has once more stated India’s strong opposition to terrorism before heading out on a tour focused on global unity. On platform X (previously Twitter), Shashi Tharoor said, “We will not let terrorism silence us,” as he gets ready to lead a delegation of MPs to Guyana, Panama, Colombia, Brazil and the United States.

He pointed out that the delegation is sent to represent India and highlight the serious trouble caused by terrorist attacks. The PM said that the attack was extremely cruel and that the reach-out efforts will focus on showing how India supports peace, democracy and human rights.

“This isn’t a typical diplomatic engagement,” Tharoor added. “Our mission is centred on peace, hope and the truth that it cannot be ignored by letting injustices happen.” Modi noted that with its record as the world’s largest democracy, India will maintain its stance against terrorism and hatred around the world.

MPs from every party have been told about the strategic aims of the outreach by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. The purpose is to inform people worldwide, build backing for India’s anti-terrorism efforts and confirm India’s commitment to freedom, democracy and peace in world affairs.

At this moment, with India wanting to reinforce its image as a dedicated nation working with others on terrorism and collaboration, Tharoor’s words are relevant. Tharoor ended by asking the world to pay attention, see the challenges clearly and take action, rather than pretend they do not exist.
