The Ministry has launched a major diplomatic effort to boost India’s global presence after the recent completion of Operation Sindoor. Seven parliamentary teams are being sent to countries around the world to convey a powerful message of India’s unwavering resolve to fight terrorism. They have made delegations led by different leaders, including Shashi Tharoor.
The primary goal behind sending these parliamentary delegations is to convey to the world India’s united approach and staunch resolve in the battle against terrorism across all its facets. “They will communicate to the international community India’s clear stance against terrorism,” the ministry explained. A variety of Members of Parliament, political leaders and ambassadors have been selected to ensure that a national voice speaking with one clear message is delivered on the world stage.
Skilled politicians from different parties within India will head each of the seven parliamentary delegations. The confirmed leaders include:
- Shashi Tharoor (Congress)
- Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad
- Sanjay Kumar Jha represents the Janata Dal United
- Baijayant Panda (Bharatiya Janata Party)
- Kanimozhi Karunanidhi (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam)
- Supriya Sule (Nationalist Congress Party)
- Shrikant Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena)
According to a news agency, the separate delegations will include about 40 parliamentarians from across different political parties. The purpose of these delegations is to represent the country in different parts of the world and strengthen India’s position on countering terrorism and promoting international cooperation.
The names of the entire group of parliamentary delegates will be made public as the selection process is in progress.
