New Delhi: Giving insights into the Owaisi firing incident, Home Minister Amit Shah at the parliament, Monday re-iterated about the arrests made and the probe being held. Shah urged the Hyderabad minister to accept the security being provided by the centre.

The home minister informed that Owaisi had no prescheduled event in the Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh where two men had fired shots on his car while returning to Delhi last week. He informed that two arrested were being probed and the unauthorized pistols and Alto car recovered from the possession were also sent for detailed investigation. “ Evidence is being collected, he said.”

The home ministry added that the threat to the AIMIM leader was reassessed and that a bulletproof vehicle with Z security was being given to him, which he verbally denied accepting.

AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi on 3rd February dodged a series of bullets that were fired towards him with an intention to kill. In not more than 24 hours, two men from Meerut were arrested on charges of firing at the Minister. One amongst them identified as Sachin is labelled as the prime accused who attempted to murder at several poll campaigns held by the chief. As per primary investigations, it is learned that Sachin, an aspiring politician a member of BJP was hurt by the speech given by Asaduddin Owaisi at a campaign in UP and so he decided to kill the MP.
