The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee chief, Bibi Jagir Kaur, has recently opened up to the media about the organization’s upcoming event, a celebration of the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur, who was the ninth Sikh master.

The SGPC chief, during the media address, has revealed that PM Modi is not going=g to receive an invite for the event anyway. The organization is utterly disappointed with Modi’s “anti-farmer stand”, i.e., his implementation of the three new farm laws.

“The Prime Minister’s stance has caused great damage to farmers. So, we have decided not to invite him for the events being organized by us”, stated the SGPC Chief during her media address taken place after the committee meeting held by the apex Gurdwara body. Notably, the Prime Minister was the chief guest at Sikhism founder Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary celebration.

The SGPC Chief, demanding a reopening of the Kartarpur corridor, asserted, “The Government of India should respect the sentiments of the Sangat (community). The corridor, which was temporarily closed due to pandemic, should be reopened as the situation has now improved”.
