New Delhi: The entire nation is under the clasp of the deadly virus. As the rate of the infection is increasing, many states are witnessing a spike in death cases everyday. It is estimated that Maharashtra recorded the highest death cases in the last 24 hours. For the last few days, in Maharashtra, the single-day tally of Covid-19 cases kept crossing the 60,000 mark.
The test positivity rate in Maharashtra stands at 16.19%. Due to the 351 deaths, the case fatality of the state has reached 1.56%. Currently, 37,43,968 people are in-home quarantine in Maharashtra. Due to the massive surge of the Covid-19 cases, the Ministry has ordered that passengers traveling to Maharashtra from any other state needs to carry a negative RT-PCR test report. Only then, they will be allowed entry into the state.
Besides Maharashtra, the death toll of Delhi reached 240 in one day which was followed by Chhattisgarh (175) and Uttar Pradesh(167). Then there is Karnataka, which reported 146 deaths in a single day. The Covid-19 death rate is increasing at an alarming rate and for that on Tuesday, India reported its biggest one-day jump of 1,761 Covid-19 deaths.
