Lucknow: Amidst the race for oxygen in the country, the second “Oxygen Express” arrived in Lucknow from Jharkhand’s Bokaro Steel Plant. Three tankers carrying 60,000 litres of liquid oxygen reached Lucknow at 5:30 am. Additional Chief Secretary Home Avinash Awasthi supervised the unloading at the railway station.
Awasthi said,” two tankers have come to Lucknow. One tanker will be sent to another district. The district administration team will decide who to supply oxygen to these tankers.”
The Oxygen Express carrying tankers from Bokaro steel plant reached Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar (Mughal Sarai) around 12 pm via the green corridor, followed by Oxygen Express carrying 20,000 litres of liquid oxygen via Varanasi and Sultanpur arrived at 7 am today.
Earlier on Thursday, BJP MP Kaushal Kishore in a video message alleged that “COVID patients are suffering and dying” and claimed that oxygen cylinders were not being supplied to private hospitals.
He claimed to have spoken to two oxygen cylinder suppliers who said that the drug inspectors had instructed them “not to send oxygen supplies to private hospitals, but only to government hospitals.” Owing to the quick depletion of Oxygen; the states registered 196 deaths in the past 24hours, taking the death toll to 10,737.
The State health bulletin reported 36,605 new infections. Out of which Lucknow logged 5,687 infections. For many days, Lucknow has been under the radar of coronavirus and continues to combat the infectious virus, reporting 7,165 recuperations out of the 22,566 recoveries across the state. Currently, 2,73,653 active individuals are calculated from the sample tests done so far.
