New Delhi: Nearly after two years today, the Indian Aviation Dept resumed scheduled international flights said an official from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The big move has been taken amid widening global vaccine coverage, the government has said.
The order read- Scheduled Foreign Carriers have applied for approval of their international schedule. The Summer Schedule 2022 is effective from March 27, 2022, till October 29 this year
All flights will operate at 100 per cent capacity. Cabin crew no longer need to wear PPE kits and security personnel at the airports can resume pat-down search of passengers when needed. The three-seat distance in aircraft has also been scrapped, the ministry added. “Airlines may carry a few additional PPE protective gears, sanitiser and N-95 masks, to handle any respiratory infections related to cases on air, for passengers as well as the crew,” a statement read. The wearing of masks and use of sanitisers is still mandatory.
A total of 60 foreign airlines of 40 countries have given the approval to operate 1783 frequencies to and fro from India during the Summer Schedule 2022. New airlines like India Salam, Air Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Qantas and American Airlines also begin operations in India.
