New Delhi: The SC hearing the Pegasus snooping row on Friday granted four weeks to the SC appointed committee to submit its report. “Preferably, the process by the technical committee should be over in four weeks and the supervisory judge should be informed. The supervisory judge shall submit his report thereafter. List sometime in July,” the Chief Justice said.The apex court is scheduled to hear the matter next in July.

A bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana directed the technical committee to submit its report to the supervising judge by month-end. Subsequently, the judge supervising the case would then study the report and his opinion by June 20th.

 The committee, headed by former top court judge RV Raveendran, informed the court that 29 mobile devices have been examined apart from interaction with several journalists and experts. 

A separate application filed by advocate M.L. Sharma urging the court to take cognisance of a recent New York Times report that India bought Pegasus spyware from Israel was listed before the Bench, which also comprises Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli.
