Bollywood actor Salman Khan has received a threat letter with a demand of ₹5 crore from an alleged brother of jailed criminal Lawrence Bishnoi.
As per the agencies, the threat message was received at the Mumbai traffic police control room in Worli on Monday night.
The message threatened Khan to issue an apology for the alleged poaching of blackbucks or else face the consequences. It said, ‘If Salman Khan wants to live, he should come to our temple; if not, he should pay ₹5 crore. Failing to do so, he identified, we will kill him; our gang is still at large.” This has raised high alarm among law enforcement bodies, and immediate action has been taken.
The on-duty security officer reported the matter to the seniors and the Worli police. Police are still trying to find the source of the message at the same time increasing the protection of Khan. They are also investigating any possible connection of the threat to Lawrence Bishnoi, who is at Sabarmati jail in Gujarat on charges of attempted murder and extortion, among others.
This is yet another episode of continuous threats facing Salman Khan. He has received similar threats before, suggesting that there are risks that come with fame, which he has experienced before.
Law enforcement agencies are doing their best to protect Khan while looking into why this new threat was made. As things progress, people still recall preventive measures for the actor in regard to the frightening incidents.
