On Saturday, Bollywood star Salman Khan was present at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Vyakhyanmal event in Mumbai, which attracted the attention of the public to the centenary year of this organisation. Few topics have been given greater focus than the two-day lecture series titled 100 Years of Sangh Journey: New Horizons is being organised on February 7 and 8, 2026, at the Nehru Centre Auditorium in Mumbai.

The goals of the programme, as described by the RSS, are to take a look at 100 years of experience of the organisation, its presence in the society, and the concepts that are influencing its future. The Mumbai Vyakhyanmala is the broadened centenary outreach of the Sangh that involves senior RSS leaders, invited guests, and the general people in a dialogue and discussion.

The first session commenced at 4:00 pm on February 7 and was addressed by the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, and the second one at 6:15 pm, in which Bhagwat described the work of the Sangh as superior and applicable globally.

The Sangh work is inimitable, and we can say, as far as we know, that there is no such work within the framework of the rest of the world. As people of India and other countries come to see the Sangh, now we are feeling it firsthand, said Bhagwat. According to him, visitors representing all five continents research the activities of the organisation and have comparable questions concerning its relevance.

Bhagwat also added that the observers tend to assume that such an all-India initiative might not have been happening since the days of Gautam Buddha. However, he stressed that the RSS had not been established as an alternative or rival to any organisation or as an opponent and therefore aims at no popularity or power.

Presumably, the lecture series will continue to be one of the main attractions of the RSS centenary year, with a special emphasis on reflection and dialogue and its vision of the future of India.
