Madhya Pradesh: Praising mission Jal Jeevan Mission launched by PM Modi- Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Sunday delineated the state’s strategy to implement the National Water  Policy.

According to the state Water Resources Department, under this mission water would be supplied in 3401 villages, 33,996 Anganwadi centres and 56,369 schools in the coming two years.  The state has initiated Nal Jal Scheme under which new water sources would be explored for providing tap water under Jal Jeevan Mission. CM said, “ PM Modi announced Jal Mission on August 15, 2019, to help the rural population. Today the mission is proving to be a boom for women in rural areas. Now women have started getting drinking water through taps at their homes.”

Currently, about 41.5 lakh rural families have been supplied with portable water in the state.  PM Modi launched the Rashtriya Jal Jeevan Kosh a govt charitable trust to tap private donors to give a boost to the Mission through public participation and released a mobile App on October 2nd  for improving awareness among stakeholders and for transparency and accountability of the scheme under JJM. Since the launch of this mission, nearly 5 crore households have been provided potable water.
