New Delhi: The special bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice JB Pardiwala of the SC heard the suspended BJP spokesperson’s plea urging clubbing of all FIRs lodged against her in several states and granted her relief. The apex court agreed to club all FIRs so that she doesn’t have to defend herself in every state. It stated that the decision was taken considering the death threats the spokesperson received.
The SC had earlier come down heavily on the BJP spokesperson who was suspended in June for her derogatory remarks about the Prophet Mohammed that triggered heavy protests across the nation and drew a slew of global criticism.
Several of them have been murdered for showing solidarity with the BJP leader. Communal tensions spurt across Karnataka, and Udaipur.
