Uttarakhand Tourism Secretary Dhiraj Garbyal stated that this year’s Chardham Yatra will begin on April 19th. The doors of the shrines will also open on different dates along with the start of the pilgrimage. The doors of Kedarnath shrine will open on April 22nd, while the doors of Badrinath shrine will open for devotees on April 23rd.
Regarding registration, the administration says that this will enable better management of the number of pilgrims during the pilgrimage and ensure smooth operation of security and facilities. To simplify the registration process, Indian pilgrims have been given the facility to register using their Aadhaar card. For foreign pilgrims, registration via email has been arranged.
Additionally, offline registration will be available for pilgrims who are unable to register online. This facility will begin on April 17th, two days before the start of the pilgrimage. Special registration counters will be set up at the transit camp in Rishikesh, Rishikul Grounds in Haridwar, and Vikasnagar.
