Ratan Tata, the revered former head of India’s Tata Sons and an infamous philanthropist, died at 86 from pneumonia on October 9th. He was rushed to a hospital in Mumbai known as Breach Candy Hospital –in a critical state before he died. The sad news of Ratan Tata passing on has, however, caused dismay; hordes of politicians and industrialists extended their accolades to the business icon.
In order to fulfill his last wish, the mortal remains of the legendary industrialist will be placed at NCPA Lawns, Mumbai, so that people can come and pay their last respects. The viewing will begin at 10:30 AM and give a chance to the people to say ‘goodbye’ to this iconic personality of the Indian business world. The NCPA Lawns are in Nariman Point, Mumbai, and this is an ideal place for such an occasion.
Shantanu Naidu, a general manager of Ratan Tata, also posted an emotional message saying, ‘’You have been my dear lighthouse.’’ His post was full of warmth as they shared long years of working together since he controlled different verticals of Tata Group for over two decades. Meanwhile, Tata Power Company Ltd saw its stock gain for the third consecutive session, currently quoted at ₹470, up 1.99% as of 12:49 IST on the NSE. While the benchmark Sensex was trading at 28,829.39, down 0.44 %, Tata Motors was at ₹ 930.85, lower by 0.88% from its previous close.
